  • My Bio

Hailing from Memphis, TN, Nick Cobb attended Indiana University where he majored in Psychology and learned to obsess over meaningless nonsense. This led him to work in his first comedy club, aptly named “The Looney Bin.” It was at a tiny Beale Street bar where Nick won a stand-up competition, was bitten by the comedy bug and moved to New York to pursue The Dream.

While in New York, Nick was seen on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, VH1’s Morning Buzz, AMC’s Date Night as well as on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” where he not only earned a spot in the semi-finals, but was also featured in a montage of comics recognized for having highly original material.

Less than a year ago, Nick took his talents to Los Angeles. Since moving out West he won the March Madness Competition at the Hollywood Improv, appeared on Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, and had his late night debut on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also recently performed on AXS’s Gotham Comedy Live.

He also played the lead in the espn.com comedic web series “Team Players,” and has been seen in many commercials including Pepsi Max, Asthma.com, Joe’s Crab Shack, Carmax and starred in an e*Trade spot during halftime of the Super Bowl! When not performing standup, Nick is brooding over that one guy in the crowd who was texting during his act.*

FAQ about my awesome "Dog Whisperer" t-shirts:

(Fantasy consumer) "Nick, how should I feel about my awesome Dog Whisperer t-shirt?"
(Me) "Proud. You are wearing a top-of-the-line District V.I.T. t-shirt. It is 4.3-ounces, 90/10 ring spun combed cotton/poly with a tear-away tag. And it comes in all sizes. It feels great on your smooth, just-showered skin. Rest assured that it was the second-best t-shirt available for me to buy, so you are getting a quality piece of clothing."

(FC)"Nick, how do I take care of my brand new awesome dog whisperer t-shirt?"
(Me) "Thanks for asking. It is simple and rugged, so a machine wash cold with like colors, non-chlorine bleach when needed should do. No need for fabric softener. Just tumble dry low. And I am assuming that a hobo did not recently use your washing machine as a toilet, like mine. If this is the case, hold off on laundering until your landlord springs for a new machine. One or two wears between laundering should be fine. I like using the word laundering.

(FC) "I'm a girl/woman/lady/profesora. Can I wear it and still be in vogue?"

(Me) "Probably not. But it makes for a great rag."
(FC) "I'm sold. I have heard it costs but a pittance."
(Me) "Yes, you are getting a phenomenal deal. You will be laughing your way back from the mailbox."
(FC) "So, how much is it?"
(Me) "$20, plus $5.75 for expedited shipping."
    (FC) "Thats not a pittance."
    (Me) "How about $25 even?"
    (FC) "I guess...."
(Me) "Well, you could just come see a show and haggle with me after like a cheapskate."
(FC) "Sounds good! Where will you be next?"
    (Me) "Check my calendar."

Comedy is great. Harry Potter is better.
